Game Progression (All Game Tutorials)

I have done many of the tutorials for our game. I have added game input, drawing scenes, and adding buttons. I understand many codes and how to link scenes. Considering I as in globaloria last year, this might not be hard for me, but I forgot almost everything. It is difficult this year, but were moving along just fine.

Drawing a scene is just drawing your game in flash like in paint. Nothing has to be working yet, but all the colors and game designs have to be here. No coding is required for this tutroial yet. This is the easiest tutorial for all globaloria members. This is the first step in making your game.

Adding game input is where we add sounds and other stuff. It includes adding buttons and much more. The buttons don't have to work yet, but it shows that you have made progression in your game. Adding input is one of the easiest tutorials for me because I remembered it from last year. Adding input is the second step in making progress through your game.

Adding animation is adding sounds to your movie clips, game, and buttons. Adding animation is also being able to have your movie clips working and able to move. When you scroll over a button, it should be able to make a sound relating to your game. This is kind of difficult because you have to find a sound on the internet and save it and import it to your library. This is the third step in completing your game.

Adding scenes is just drawing different scenes for your game. It is also making sure that they can link to each other without any errors. The code is very easy. You have to have a button on both scenes to link the scenes back and fourth. This is the fourth step in completing your game.

Adding input keyboard is the hardest tutorial. You have to make somethhing move with the keyboard's arrows. There is a lot of code involved in this step. This code is hard to put in your game becuase if theres one little error, than it will affect everything. This is the fifth step in completing your game.

Adding mouse input is using the mous in your game. You have to drag something with the mouse and make it change or have an affect. This is a very difficult code for me because I have never used this code before. It is difficult because it is like the moving with keyboard code. This is the final step in completing your game.

Globaloria Changes

If I could change one thing about this class I would change all the requirements for our games. For example you have to have a drag and drop and I don’t know how I am going to put that in my game. Many people in my class are also wondering how they’ll include it in their game. I don’t like the idea of drag and drop because I don’t understand why it is necessary. I hope this change can take affect this year because many students in globaloria would benefit from it.
The class is also so stressful. If you are behind even a little bit many people struggle to get caught up because the students who do know what they are doing can’t help everyone. I think that the students who fall behind easily shouldn’t be in this class because sometimes they just play games all class. You also have to dress up when you show your game and I don’t understand that. Why would we dress up for the whole day for a 45 minute class? I think we should just dress casually for all the globaloria events.
And I don’t understand why we have to blog. The administrators can just look at our wiki to look at our progress and what we are currently working on. The blogs don’t even have to be about globaloria. If it doesn’t have to be about globaloria than why do we blog? I hope in the future we don’t have to blog unless it’s necessary.
And for 7th grade they have to stay after school and I would NEVER do that. This class expects too much out of us because we have other activities to do like sports, other homework, or have plans to hang out with another friend. I think that globaloria should take out some of the things I mentioned to make the class less stressful.

Other Wiki Pages

I looked at Capital Hill's high school wiki and there is nothing posted. I think they can make it better by personalizing it a little bit. Or maybe adding some information about their games and experiences with globaloria. They don't have many wiki points. There aren't many users. For this school there is only one student and one teacher. I think they should expand their globaloria community to more than one student.

Game Time

My game is about a little guy that you have to guide through a labyrinth to get to the end. The hardest oart is getting through the maze to get to the next scene. You have to answer questions by choosing the pathway with an answer on it. My game is about Greek mythology because you are in Daedalus' Maze and have to get to the end to get out.

My Christmas Break

Over vacation I got a ps3 slim 320 gig, black ops, nba 2K11, Gran Turismo 5, and some AE clothes. I had a great christmas. My friend Drew who lives in California came to visit me and some friends here in WV. This christmas was fun because of everyone in town and all the stuff I got.

Home for the Hollidays

My dad has been in Florida for a long time and he's coming home for Chrsitmas. I can't wait to see him! He's coming home tomorrow and he's gonna pick me up from school. I look forward to going on a big snowboarding trip and watching sports near the fireplace on Christmas Eve. On Christmas we usually go out to eat at the Greenbrier. I hope today and tomorrow goes fast.

Snow Days

First I woke up at noon and went outside and found Waldo hiding in the snow. Waldo was about two feet tall and he said he was cold. So I told him he could come inside, but I tricked him and left him in the snow. After three days I offered him some hot chocolate and drank it right in front of him. He left without a word and I felt bad so I decided to give him some cookies.

I was on the computer and I bought a plane ticket to florida and realized Osama Bin Ladin was sitting next to me on the plane. I started the conversation and asked him how's life? He said those americans have been looking for me in Iraq this whole time while I've been living with my Aunt Jil in Loisiana. In the middle of our conversation Waldo jumped really high off the ground and landed on top of the plane and sat next to me. He came inside and sat next to me with a santa costume. I was afraid of santa, but he didnt know that, so I pushed him off the plane and i threw down the parachute after Iwaited five minutes of him falling. He was badly injured and I planned to visit him after my trip to Florida.
